Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas...

Hello you lovely people

I'm sure by now you'll all be in the festive spirit or at least attempting to be. I don't know how or why, but to me this Christmas somehow feels different? And I've discovered that I am not the only person who feels this way. I honestly believe it's because this year literally sped by! But here we are 5 days away from Christmas, at least in New Zealand right now. I still am yet to completely finish buying all of my Christmas presents for my friends & loved ones so wish me luck.

I just wanted to write a short and sweet blog post to personally wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and of course, a Happy New Year! Probably the most commonly used sentence in Christmas cards this time of year too.

However you celebrate Christmas, and even if you don't, everyone has their traditions this time of year. Whether it be watching Christmas-y films and being with your family and loved ones or celebrating with a small group of friends, make sure you enjoy yourself!

'Tis the season!

Talk to you soon,

Love always

December!

Hello my lovelies!

I feel like I haven't had a good heart to heart talk to you in awhile! So today I'm going to write to you on a personal level! How have you all been? Great I hope. I've been good ( thanks for asking!). I have finally finished all of my end of year exams and I'm feeling pretty confident that they went well at least most of them! Exams suck though, not exactly my idea of the perfect day going to school to sit in a large, freezing, room for 3 hours. But enough about me! Lets talk about the fact that it is now DECEMBER.

Where has this year gone?! I mean seriously. I swear this has been the fastest year of my life, and I don't know if thats because i'm getting older that it seems faster? (just noticed all of the rhetorical questions in this post.) But seriously I remember January just like it was yesterday!

I couldn't be happier that it's now December though because you know what that means! Getting into the festive spirit for Christmas! Oh the joys of putting up your Christmas tree and that lovey dovey feeling you get when you plug your fairy lights in at night time - it's the simple things in life am I right. The only part I'm not looking partically forward to is present buying especially with all the hustle and bustle that is involved especially this month! But I will do it and I will get through it, as I always do! And so will you! I feel like I'm talking to a friend right now, see this is why I love blogging so much! Oh also I forgot to tell you I now have a part time/summer job at this cafe right by my house so i'll be bringing in the $$$ which I cannot wait for! Already planning all the online shopping expeditions I plan to go on (cue cries of happiness).

The month of December always makes me so happy because here in NZ it's starting to really come into Summer so it's nice and hot and summery and It's times like this I realise how beautiful my country is. In Winter it's almost impossible to appreciate the grey depressing skies which seem to lurk in every corner of everyday, but once it's December it's almost as if Winter never happened. Everyone is always so cheerful and It just gives me the happiest fluttery feeling. I can picture Christmas Day already, with my family and all the laughter and the gift giving! I am also expecting a baby cousin who will arrive next May! I have never had a baby in my family so I am absolutely over the moon about it! Here's a big congrats to my Uncle and Auntie who are going to make the best parents!

But that's enough rambling for now and If you survived reading through this whole blog post, you deserve an award, a big GOLD award.

Have a fabulous day, week, month! I will talk to you very soon!
Enjoy putting up your Christmas trees! Comment below if you have any "christmasy" family traditions leading up to Xmas Day!

Lots of love always,

C

KANYE WEST.

Hello my people,

I hope you all are doing well and looking forward to the festive month of December! Also, Happy Thanksgiving to all my American's reading this! Enjoy the presence of your family and also a food baby.

So today I'm going to talk to you about something just a 'lil bit different I suppose. There Is something you may or may not know about me, I am a huge Kanye West fan. I have loved him so long and I'm just completely inspired by everything about him. He is such an influential man in this generation and I'm honored that I get to witness his artistic ability. Not only is he a lyrical genius he is also a producer, designer, film director and most of all, an entrepreneur.

Russel Simmons recently wrote an absolutely incredible article about Ye which he tweeted out himself. I will link that at the end of this blog and I definitely recommend you have a look at it. Now I'm sure many of you may have negative thoughts towards Mr West. The media portrays him as this "monster" who attacks paparazzi, goes on crazy rants, and thinks he's a god. All of these things may well be very true, in fact they all are. But you know what, everyone has a little monster in them, and when someone continuously attacks you with words your monster is going to come out. Sometimes we all go a little physco, it just so matters that Kanye has a herd of people that follow me so of course, we get to see this on video. Now don't tell me if you were in that position you wouldn't lash out now and then because I know we all would. Now as for his lengthly rants. He has a very creative and powerful mind and he shows this through his voice and his art. It may come across as anger and arrogance, but when you listen to what he has to say it's honestly so beautiful and correct in every aspect. He wants to bring so much to this world, inspire people, teach people so they don't go through the same mistakes he did. He may come across as an asshole, but Kanye West is one of my favourite people in this whole world.

I hope my expression somehow benefited you in one way or another, otherwise I hope you enjoyed my thoughts and If you don't agree with them than that is absolutely great. Everyone has the right to their own opinions and that's the great thing about this modern day! We all have a voice! Let me know if you share the same thoughts with me or not, in the comments section below! I would love to hear from you.

Thankyou very much for taking the time to visit my blog!

Here is the link to the Russel Simmons article: http://globalgrind.com/2013/11/27/the-genius-that-is-kanye-west-by-russell-simmons/

Have a fabulous day and i'll talk to you all soon!
Love always,
C.

Inspiration...

Marry someone who lets you have a bite of their brownie, even when you said you weren’t hungry. Marry someone who laughs at the same things you do. Marry someone who kisses your nose on a cold day. Marry someone who you can watch Disney movies with. Marry someone who is proud of you whether you earn £5 a week or £5,000 a week. Marry someone who you can tell everything to. Marry someone who isn’t afraid or embarrassed to hold your hand in public. Marry someone who lets you take over when decorating a cake. Marry someone who you can spend the day in Ikea with without feeling stressed. Marry someone who wraps you up inside their coat in the winter. Marry someone who accepts your fears and phobias. Marry someone who gives you butterflies every time you hear their key in the door. Marry someone who you don’t always have to shave your legs for. Marry someone who accepts you all day every day, even when you don’t look or feel your best. Marry someone who puts three sugars in your tea, despite telling them “just the two”. Marry someone who doesn’t judge you when you eat your body weight in cookies. Marry someone who doesn’t make you want to check your phone, because you know they will reply. Marry someone who waits with you to get on the train. Marry someone who understands that you need to be alone sometimes. Marry someone who gets on well with your parents and isn’t uptight about family events. Marry someone who calms you down when you get mad about stupid stuff, and never tells you it’s “only stupid stuff”. Marry someone who makes you want to be a better person. Marry someone who makes you laugh. Marry someone who you love. Marry your soulmate, your lover, your best friend.

Happy Sunday lovelies!

Life Update! Rihanna + One Direction Concerts!

Hello my lovelies!

It feels like forever since I last sat down to write a blog post! I always feel myself saying this! How terrible am I at being consistent! I just thought I'd update you abit about whats being happening in my mainly basic life lately. So I had a two week term holiday break from school recently - hence the reason I have posted in so long!

So on the first Saturday of week one I went to the Rihanna concert in Auckland and it was honestly amazing! It was so fabulous and i've always been a fan of her since I can even remember! Shes truly the most perfect female on the planet I swear to god! I was so amazed at how flawless her apperance and her live vocals were! It was such a great night! It was also great to enjoy It with two of my closest friends.

So the Sunday of week two I went to another concert! Now this one me and my bestfriend had bought prior and been waiting 18 months for and that was One Direction. I'm not even going to lie It was incredible to put it lightly. I am honestly such a huge fan of those five and I would never give up the oppurtunity to see them live! We also had Soundcheck tickets meaning you attend their soundcheck on the day, before the concert. All in all it was such a fantastic experience, seeing them all so up close and personally it was something I have dreamt of for more than 2 and a half years. Since seeing the boys in April of last year, It was crazy to see how much they have all changed physically and mentally. They are absolutely lovely and they are so perfect It makes you want to melt. Although It deffinitely did pain me to see my boy Zayn Malik with the knowledge that he's engaged but I'm so happy that he's finally happy, and thats all I want for him. Also, shoutout to their opening act Five Seconds of Summer (5SOS) because they were sick too.

I'll post a few photos below!

Sorry this was such a vague blog post and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea!

I hope you have a great week and remember to keep smiling - as always

Lots of love,

Courtney

Inspiration of the Day - 24/09/13

As humans, we waste the shit out of our words. It’s sad. We use words like “awesome” and “wonderful” like they’re candy. It was awesome? Really? It inspired awe? It was wonderful? Are you serious? It was full of wonder? You use the word “amazing” to describe a goddamn sandwich at Wendy’s. What’s going to happen on your wedding day, or when your first child is born? How will you describe it? You already wasted “amazing” on a fucking sandwich.

I read this quote and I thought to myself, how much I do this. How much I over use words in the context in which they don't quite belong. So there's something for you to wrap your head around for today.

Lots of love always,

xoxo

Hello my loves,

It seems that lately I've been blogging every other day and I have got to admit I am loving it! Now that I am a part of the fabulous Next Blogger Network it motivates me to post more, so claps to them!

Fashion Favorite - Blake Lively #NBN

Hello my loves!

Today I will be talking about a blonde goddess who goes by the name of Blake Lively (aka. Serena on Gossip Girl). Not only is she a flawless actress but also a gem when it comes to fashion. Lately in particular she has been rocking Burberry and i have got to admit, she does this to perfection!

At her most recent film premiere for Turbo in New York, she worked a chic-inspired outfit consisting of a simple grey singlet, a gorgeous lace pencil skirt and nude heels .The outfit appeared perfect for the occasion as not too dressy, yet not too casual. There is no way i could not comment on how fabulous her physique looks and those heels just help to make her look even more Miranda-Kerr-esque (my new word!).

Now, if you don't have quite as many penny's in your bank and not willing to purchase a Burberry work of art, i am here to help you out sister! Here are some outfits that Blake would definitely approve of, who knows we might see her next week wearing the exact same thing!

Asos- £20.00

This sweetheart skater inspired dress is perfectly Blake and you can definitely see the Serena in it too, as her character in GG is known to wear outfits quite like this one. It's gorgeous and so feminine, a style that Mrs Lively herself would no doubt love! Paired with a pair of killer heels and a fancy clutch you can turn this dress into your next date night head-turner or night out on the town ensemble! Did i mention it's completely affordable?! Bonus!

Maria Pocket Front Structured Day Bag
This 'Maria Pocket Front Structured Day Bag' is a definite example of a bag that we could possibly see on the arm of this gal. Blake always sports a pop of colour and what better way than with a bag! Paired with a casual outfit and fabulous sunglasses this could be the perfect way to complete your outfit! A great investment, this could be promising! Below you will see Blake with a similar day bag! Get your hands on this baby!

Missguided - €38.67

These glamorous show stoppers are sure to get a few staring at your glinting feet! Cinderella called, she wants her shoes back?  These heels are just sparkly enough and just metallic enough that they almost make you want to cry... Let's not lie their so her and they could be so you! These are the ultimate party shoes and this website doesn't disappoint i promise you that! These are a absolute wardrobe essential!

So this is my defintion of the superb Mrs Blake Lively who never fails to disapoint us with her casual-chic inspired style and dress sense. Don't remind me of her perfect husband or her glamorous life! Sigh. Thankyou for reading this and I hope you lovelies enjoyed this blog post!

Let me know, whos your favourite fashionista?

Be Happy, Accepting and Smile More!

Hello my loves,

I hope your all doing well! Lately I have had quite a few school exams, which explains my excuse as to why I have not posted anything in quite awhile! But here I am, I'm back!

Lately there has been a lot of negative activity not only in the online world, but in reality too. I feel like it's the time of year where everyone is just completely over it, everyone needs a holiday and a chill pill! What with all the stress and pressure we are constantly put under, by bosses, teachers etc, it is completely understandable that we cannot always be our happiest! So here we go, I'm going to give you a little insight in how to keep you and your emotions stable and under control!

Firstly, realize that nothing lasts forever. The stress you're going through right now, or the a sad time in your life whatever it may be. I constantly remind myself of this when I am going through a hard time, whether it be to do with a school related topic or my personal life. Sometimes you just need to reassure yourself that you are going to be okay. Think to yourself, is this going to be important to me in say 2 weeks? a month? a year? and most likely, you'll find yourself saying no. And okay, if you find yourself saying yes, you can get it sorted! Because there is no need to put yourself through stress, it is completely unnecessary! There is always a solution!

Which brings me to my next point. Now when we cannot be rid of the stress and we feel like we're in this blurry, spinning  tunnel with no way out, you need some time to just stop and relax. Find something that you love doing, reading a book, having a bath, hell even read a book in the bath! Listen to your favourite music! In my opinion lately i have been loving anything Alternative, especially a band called The 1975. They have such great music that just seems to soothe me and excite me at the same time. Then there's always the #1 for me, John Mayer. Have a little look around, i'm sure you'll find something to calm yourself down, even if its just for a short period of time. You might even find, it'll make you forget your worries!

Now i'm not going to lie, i'm one of those people who honestly worries way too much! I over think things until the moment after they've happened. Most of the time, i find myself questioning why i was so worried in the first place! I am yet to find a cure for this, but if you find one please let me know. I have learnt in my life, as long as i am surrounded by the best people and i have all the essentials that i need, i have a reason to keep smiling. I know that everything is going to be okay, maybe not all the time, but eventually it all will be. That's the important thing. Learn to smile, learn to have a good laugh. So what if you miss the bus, or you hit your toe on a table, have a second to swear and then laugh laugh LAUGH. I dare you, try it! I swear to god this works!

Just remember, you are always loved and there are always people out there to help you! Whatever the problem is, it will get better! That is a promise i can keep with you!

I hope you have a fabulous day! Enjoy it!

Remember to keep smiling,
I'll talk to you soon

xoxo,
Courtney

I grew up in the wrong era...

Hey lovelies,

I hope your all well! I am great at the moment, life is running pretty smoothly if I do say so myself! But this is a topic that's been on my mind a lot lately and that is "the olden days".

By this I don't necessarily mean back to the Victorian times with the corsets and extravagant dresses (as much as I'd love that too) I mean the 80-90's! These seem like the absolutely best years and I'm so disappointed I only got to live through the last few years of the 90's!

Your probably wondering why I'm so infatuated with this time, so I'm going to give you the run down. Firstly, the movies. The movies made in this time period are some of the most well made classics and love stories of all time! No, basically every single movie back then is pure perfection. Secondly, the way of life. That laid back, easy going, just-go-with-it vibe that everyone had about literally everything! Thirdly, how they didn't have such extreme technology. Back then they basically had a television and a landline phone and possibly one of those brick mobiles, so communication was a lot stronger! Also if a guy wanted to ask you out he would have to risk the embarrassment of calling you and hoping and praying your rents wouldn't pick up! - too cute! Did I mention 110% of the guys back then were practically gods and  every one of them looked like heavenly Heath Ledger lookalikes. Sigh.

What I would give to have been alive in this fabulous era? Only my first born child! Hmm maybe not, but you catch my drift! 2013 is so not me, lets go back to overalls.... oh wait they are back in fashion! Sometimes I wish I could just catch a time machine falling from the sky and then all my wishes would be granted! But for now, ill sit back and watch the best of the best films and fantasise about dreamy boys like Freddie Prince Jr.

If you agree with me, let me know!

Green Smoothies! - Healthy/Fitness Post!

Hello you lovely readers!

I hope your having a fantastic week and I'm sure your praising The Lord just as much as I am that tomorrow is Friday! Well on this side of the world anyway!

Today I'm going to talk to you about something a little bit different! I've never talked about diet or fitness etc on my blog so I thought, why not try?! So I'm going to talk to you about something I absolutely love right now!

Green smoothies are a combination of healthy, nutritious, deliciousness which also happen to be incredibly good for your body and brain! Talk about a bonus!
These are a great alternative to juice or something not quite as fab for your well being! I've decided since were going into Spring here in New Zealand I should start to get into the fitness and healthy eating time of the year, since soon it'll be summer!

So I've got a few green smoothie recipes that I love, and I will list them for you below! I know they sound a bit crazy and different but change is good so embrace it my lovelies!

Green Smoothie #1:

1 Banana
1/2 Apple
3 Tablespoons Fruity Yoghurt
1 Handful of Salad Greens
1/2 Handful of Spinach
Squirt of lemon juice

Blend together and then add ice!

Green smoothie #2:

2 cups of spinach
2 cups of water
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mango
2 bananas

Green smoothie #3:

2 cups of spinach
3/4 cup of water
3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 cup of strawberries
1 cup of blueberries
2 bananas

Green smoothie #4:

2 cups of spinach
2 cups of coconut water
1 pear
1 banana
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 inch of ginger

So there we go, there's some of my favourite recipes! So basically you just chuck all those ingredients into a blender/food processor and then serve it in a glass and add ice if you wish! These honestly taste so amazing and you feel amazing drinking them too because you know your body will love you for it so go for it!!

So many celebrities have also jumped on this healthy taste sensation of a bandwagon such as Khloe Kardashian, Kimberly Synder, Ashley Benson and many more!

Honestly try this I promise you'll fall inlove and you'll feel great too!

Have a great rest of the week and remember to keep smiling!

All my love always

The Importance Of Being Young!

Hello my loves!

Long time now blogs right! So sorry about that! I've been completely off the radar lately and frankly as lazy as a tortoise. Recently I've just had a much needed two week break of school for school holidays and currently I am now going into the third week of term three - oh how time flies! I hope you've all been enjoying whatever it is you've been getting up to and remembering to look after yourself!

Today I thought I'd talk abit about the importance of making the most of your youth and just making the most of life. It doesn't matter whether your a pre-teen, teenager or young adult reading this somehow or another you will relate to this. As you know we all grow and we all get older and it's just a part of life as melancholy as it may be. Since the day were born we grow and we become older day by day and suddenly your 5 years old and your starting school.

Before you know it life flashes before your very eyes before you even have time to take a good look at it. I myself am growing into the young adult stage and it saddens me a bit, there's still so much I want to do and I'm still young however I honestly do miss my younger days. The days where you could run around your backyard in the nude laughing your absolute ass off - no pun intended! Especially if your older you'll too agree how much you miss being young. So this is just a reminder to you all, make the most of everyday and don't be afraid to be a bit childish now and again! Don't grow up too quick because you have your whole life to be old but only a segment of time to be young!

This may seem like a whole lot of jumbled nonsense, and it probably is. It's probably because its the end of a long school week and it's late at night and my brain is wandering... Oh well. I hope you enjoyed this seemingly average post!

I look forward to talking to you in the very near future! - I promise this time!
Take care and keep smiling! :-)

Love always,
Courtney

10 years time...

Hey dolls,

Hope your all staying classy!

Hope your all keeping warm and happy in this cold depressing weather (if you live in the Australasia area!)

Today I'm going to share with you an essay I wrote for my English class. The topic we had to write on was: "Describe one day in your life, the way you imagine it to be in 10 years from now."
So now I'm going to share it with you!

In 10 years from now I will be living in New York City, in the upper east side of Manhattan. But this isn't just your typical story, this is my dream I've had ever since I was a little girl. This is what I imagined as my dream whilst growing up in New Zealand. I, Courtney Shorter, work at Vogue Magazine. The job every single girl dreams of, and only dreams of.
I get to write, review and attend the hottest events. I get to go to runway shows and fashion week all around the world!

I wake up in my apartment to the view I would literally die for. Penthouse apartment overlooking Central Park and if you look to the left you will see the burst of energy and bright lights of Times Square. As I excitedly get out of bed I walk into my walk in wardrobe and chose my outfit for the day. I have a choice of almost infinite possibilities, one of the many advantages of working at the worlds elite fashion magazine.

I get the latest collections and seasons directly to my wardrobe. Versace, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, you name it, you'll find it. I get changed into my new season Gucci outfit and my Burberry coat and scarf. Not forgetting my favourite Lou Boutton heels. I walk into my glamorous bathroom and apply my Chanel makeup and Givenchy perfume. After I am fully done up I go and eat my breakfast and grab my Chanel bag before heading out the door. I unlock my beautiful, pristine, black Range Rover and proceed to drive to work. As I drive, I look  at my surroundings and think how blessed I am to have finally made it here.

I arrive at work just in time to see Alex. She's been my friend ever since I was 10, and we've always had the same career dream. Luckily, we both got what we had dreamed of! She too works at Vogue, interviewing and conversing with some of the biggest celebrities in the world! We walk into work together, friendly greeted by the friends and faces we see everyday. I leave Alex's side and remind her that we'll meet up for lunch, and head to my quarters. The writers section of the building is situated on the third floor, downstairs from the wardrobe. I sit down at my desk and check my emails. Today I get to write about the new season trend, leather. It's just one of those materials that always finds a way to sneak into the runway shows and will always be in trend. After a lot of drafting, it's now lunchtime. I text Alex on my iPhone 5 to see where we should meet and we decide on the new Japanese restaurant on fifth avenue, the one even Rihanna has been raving about!

It's lovely to be able to sit down and have a proper conversation and meal as we hardly have any time to any more, but we find the time. We discuss our personal lives and she tells me about her lovely fiancé. After lunch we have a quick stop at Starbucks, our tradition! Then we head back to work. I continue writing my column before being asked to assist with helping for a fashion shoot. Just another of my favourite perks of this job. The shoot had finished and now finally, I can go home! It been another long, hardworking fab in my amazing job. K decide to pick up some dinner from the local fresh deli and go home and crash.

There is nothing I love more than getting home, getting into my pajamas and sitting on the couch, with my laptop and write on my blog. Writing is one of my greatest passions so I also do this leisurely. I also Skype my bestfriend Sara who lives in London. After several hours of writing, skyping, and Keeping up with the Kardashians it's now time for a bath. I have a relaxing bath full of bubble and luxurious products whilst reading articles on my iPad. I then take off my makeup and moisturise before little my favourite body butter on. I then get into my bed and decide to read the latest Vogue.

As I turn the page I see my column, big and bold, full page spread, and smile to myself. My dreams really have come true. I say goodnight to New York City and go to sleep, in the city that never sleeps.

I hope you enjoyed this! It's basically all my dreams - ever! put into a really really long essay. Woo!

Keep smiling my lovelies,
Love always

Weekend Wakeup Call!

Hello my loves!

I hope you had a great weekend and caught up on lots of much deserved sleep! I know I did! I had probably the laziest weekend ever but I also went to see the new movie World War Z and loved it! - Go check it out if you love suspenseful flicks and a bit of horror!

So at school at the moment I have been so busy! From internals to assessment my mind has been completely fixated on my work! But all this hard work has really made me think about my future and why I'm pursuing my education.

I have really big dreams for myself. I want to earn a good salary, travel the world, write a lot and become successful. Those are just a few of the goals I set for myself. I want to life my life to the fullest and I know that in order to do this I need to create the best possible grades and achievement level for myself.

I have decided, because of this, that I am going to keep away from relationships with boys - sigh! Because I feel that this could really cause a hiccup in my path and I don't want to make it any harder than its already going to be. So to save myself heartbreak for a few more years and In order to keep myself grounded and positive this is what I have told myself I must do. I have the greatest friends and family in the whole entire world so I am extremely blessed and I don't need a man in my life! -Mhmmm that's right sister!

I hope you understand where I'm coming from, and maybe you agree with me too! But promise me one thing, aim high! Set yourself goals and create a standard you want to meet and your life will be one well lived! Trust me on that. Success is key my friends!

So there's just a little bit of Sunday night inspiration for ya right there, I hope you have an amazing week and make sure to keep those smiles and laughs coming! A smiley person is a happy person after all! Eat well, and look after yourself!

Until next time,
Love always

Happiness is key!

Hello my lovely readers!

Sorry for not posting in awhile, I've been having some very annoying Internet problems which have been rather infuriating to put it softly! - ugh!

I hope you are having a fabulous day wherever you are in the world and whatever you're doing! Because you deserve to be happy and this is exactly what I'm going to talk to you about today! Happiness.

Happiness is one of the greatest and most important things in life, we need to be happy to lead a good life. It isn't always easy to find and create but once you have it you will treasure it. I know it sounds cheesy to you and yes I admit it does a little to me too; but you honestly deserve happiness.

Happiness can be found in many ways in life whether it be from people who surround and influence you to succeeding in something you love. No matter what it may be, if something makes you happy you must continue to let it into your life regardless of how it effects anyone else- to an extent as long as it isn't negatively effecting anyone!

So it doesn't matter if basketball is your favourite sport or if you love that band that everyone makes fun of, if you love it you embrace it! This is your life and you get to decide how you want to live it! Don't take anything of what other people tell you to do! Put yourself first in this scenario!

I hope this helped to give you a mid-week boost! And if it bought even a fraction of a smile to your face then there's something I can say I've accomplished!

Currently I am battling a horrible cold which sucks! But hey, the joys of the winter season right! Gotta love it. Ill live!

Keep on smiling sweetpeas,
Talk to you soon!
Love alway

Busy busy busy...

Hello lovelies,

I hope your all having a lovely week! Today I decided to complete two blog posts so you'll be either happy to know ( or not care at all! ) that I just posted a beauty review a couple of hours ago so go check that out if you would like! :-)

So this is probably my busiest week of the year so far, at school. I have internals/assessments every single day for this week and several days for next week. I don't know if you'll agree with me on this, but I must say I kind of enjoy been this busy. I'm so used to having boring school weeks where we hardly do anything meaningful and worth while you know? So It makes me feel like I'm actually doing what I'm supposed to be at school for when I'm working hard and busy at school. I know to some of you that sounds like complete crazy talk! - judge me.

But seriously though I'm so busy!! To too everything off I have a dance assessment too! Me and two other peers had to create a sequence of choreography each over a number of weeks and the day after tomorrow we have to preform it to perfection in front of the class, so to oh it softly, I'm stressed! But it will be good and I can do it!! POSITIVE.

I hope your not all having busy weeks, I honestly hope your having relaxing weeks full of spare time and friends and coffee breaks! Ah the life.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and a fantastic weekend! Go out and do something fun and spontaneous! You won't regret it!

Keep smiling!
Love always,
Courtney

Barry M Liquid Felt-Tip Eyeliner Review

Hello all you lovely people out there,

Today I'm going to be doing a review on the Barry M Liquid Felt-Tip Eyeliner. I picked up this eyeliner in Topshop in London when I was over there earlier this year. I'll start off by saying I am really pleased with this product!

The packaging is really simple but effective and it's very secure and practical. The eyeliner itself is really really easy to use! I haven't had a lot of experience with liquid eyeliner so that just goes to show you it's good for beginners, if your just starting out with liquid eyeliner. The applicator on this eyeliner is really simple and easy to apply with and since it's a felt tip you have the choice of applying it thinly or thicker. Overall this is a great product and a cheap buy too! It costs NZD $9.74 ( UK $4.59 )

I will list below some websites where this product is available:
http://www.asos.com/Barry-M/Barry-M-Blink-Felt-Tip-Liquid-Eyeliner/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2594340&cid=1455&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Black

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! Definitely if you can, get your hands on this product it's totally worth it!
Hope you all have a lovely week (POSITIVE THOUGHT: It's Wednesday we're halfway!!!)
Keep on smiling!
Love always,

Courtney

The truth about life.

Hello there all you blog addicts,

So today I thought I would write abit about something I think of as important in the life of humans no matter what you think, your opinion is not relevant right now so clear the clutter of your mind and listen to what I have to say.

Shopping, retail therapy. Call it what you want there's no denying it makes people happy and it sure does make you feel good too. The mere action of buying that new dress or those new shoes can really change your mood for the better. This to me is a crucial activity in life. Now I don't mean get your credit card out and go on a whatever-you-want shopping spree because ofcourse you should do it in variation!

Just treat yourself now and again and you'll feel good about it without talking a huge chunk out of your account balance, sorted! Little luxuries like this are what makes life that little bit better, get out there and make yourself happy! That's what I say. Learn to treat yourself a little, you probably work your ass off and you probably are underpaid for what you do so you deserve to have a little splurge!

That's all I've got to say for now!
I hope your all having a fabulous queens birthday weekend, I know I am! My dad actually took me out shopping today- how cliche! It was great, I love me some father-daughter time!

Love always,
Courtney

Be positive! - My bestfriend

Hello all you lovely people,

So I thought I would start writing more blog posts about positive things in life, these could just be the little things that make life so much better. Since I am myself a human being, I strongly believe in trying to be positive at all times possible in everyday life. So I would like to take the time to write this blog post about something positive and something (someone) who helps me to stay me!

So my best friend her name is Sara and this girl is so much more than a best friend to me! We are like 1 person who were somehow split into 2 bodies and then were reunited together through fate, honestly. We live literally down the road from one another and we spend almost every second of every day together! It's great, and without her I wouldn't be half the person I am today. She has helped shaped me into who I want to be in life and steered me back on track anytime i forget who I am. We have so much in common, more in fact than I have than with anyone else I know! We even get told often that we sound the exact same!

Sara is just one of the people/things that help me stay positive everyday and without her there wouldn't be much to smile about. This is an example of how life can be fabulous, and there is so much to smile and be happy about! As i put at the end of most of my blog posts "keep smiling"! Because smiles make the world joyful and can make you feel so enriched with everything.

Stay tuned for my next blog post on another thing that makes my life great!

Keep Smiling and i'll talk to you soon! :-)

Love always,
Courtney x

The Society We Live In

Hello my lovely readers, once again thankyou for reading this and if you are new to my blog then, welcome!

So today I thought I'd leave you with something that I wrote and got quote into while writing to be honest. And it's about how we judge one another and how society judges one another and I just thought it might interest some of you! Please bare in mind that this is not a masterpiece, so if its not up to your standards please do not feel the need to scratch my eyes out. Thanks!

In a world where were taught not to judge or be mean; we may be the worst hypocrites. We judge people mentally by the way they dress and look as-though  its just a normal thought. It's like we look for flaws on others to make ourselves feel better? But to me this is just a fake excuse to bring others down. We are cobstantly struggling with a endless battle of stopping bullies who make others lives a living hell because their own definition of hell is their life. But is it fair to bring others down just because you think so negatively? I think not. These are just a few examples of everyday life throughout the world that makes me question the actions of the human race. It's as though we could all be blind and deaf oblivious to feelings and others. We are told to love our friends and family and that we do, but be cruel the enemy is not just.

So I hope you guys enjoyed that! And if you didn't hey that's okay too! If you did then great! Let me know what you thought by sending me a tweet at @courtneyshorter or you can email me at courtneysh0rter@yahoo.com!

Thankyou guys!
Hope you have a great week and remember to keep loving each other and smiling!

Always,
Courtney

Happy Mothers Day!

Hello Lovelies,

As you may, or may not know, today in New Zealand it is Mothers Day! Yes, that time of year when we treat our mothers as if they were Queens for a day whether this be by making them breakfast, buying them presents or doing all the dishes, or if their lucky all of the above.

I would like to talk about my own mother for a bit. My mum is not just a great mother but also a great friend and someone who i know that i can always trust and rely on, no matter what. She is the first person i turn to when i have problems or just need a talk. Just like all mother-daughter relationships we have our issues and ofcourse we have our little debates and disputes. My mother has practically raised me from birth all on her own, my parents got divorced when i was only around 5 and ever since i've been living full time with my mum and seeing my dad every second weekend.

Ofcourse my dad has also played a great part in my up bringing but i can honestly say nowhere near my mother. I feel that although me and my dad are close me and my mum are the closest. My mum has always given up alot for me, if i wasn't happy about something she would do her best to change it. My safety has always been her first priority, even if it was above hers. She has had to always keep and hide quite alot away from me, for example in terms of money we aren't rich we aren't well of even. There are alot of days leading up to pay day which i'm not going to lie are pretty depressing especially when my school lunches are normally so bog standard, but i'm not complaining. My mum always trys her best and I know that alot of the time she doesn't feel like it's good enough. But to me it is, even if she didn't try half as hard as she does I would still be one of the proudest daughters alive.

So i'd like to take this day to thank my mum, from the moment she popped me out the womb to where I am right now writing on this very computer on this very blog post.
Thankyou mum, I will always be your #1 fan and i will always love you.

Hope you all spoil your mother's today as you should do everyday of the year!
Keep on smiling,
Love always

I'm back - London experience!

Hello my fellow earthlings!

Well it's been quite a while hasn't it, but I feel I have a fairly good enough excuse to have not written in awhile. As you may (or may not) know, I was in London for two weeks with my bestfriend and her lovely family and I only got home around 3 days ago.

As you can probably imagine, it was one of the best experiences of my life. There is so much to do and see in London that you are completely overwhelmed and frankly you don't know where to start! We ha a list thankfully so we pretty much did everything there is to do in that fabulous city! Don't even get me start on the shopping, it was like nothing I've ever experienced before. Topshop, Zara, Victorias Secret, H&M and so much more! It's a girls dream come true to sum it all up.

There is so much history in England and it was incredible to get to discover and learn about some of that, from the Tower of London to Buckingham palace and the list goes on! It's probably the most historical place in the world since it dates back to some of the most important times in history and alot of it occurred there too. A huge eye opener was when we were on a tour bus and we drove down the street where the Plague was actually found so long ago, that just incredibly amazed me I couldn't believe it!

The shows in London were absolutely incredible, the west end! We went to see the popular Wicked and the classic Phantom of the Opera which I loved to bits! I must say I've discovered I'm a huge musical theatre fan! I think I've always been on in my heart but I just forgot about it through the years! The sound of music has always been one of my favourites!

So overall I loved London- More than that I was absorbed in it! One day I'd even love to live there and maybe even go to university there! Who know where the future will take me but ill keep my options open! I do have the ability to live there thankfully from my dads side of the family because he's actually English so that's a huge influence for me meaning I can lib there! So grateful for that one, thanks dad!

Ill post some photos below for you to have a look at and you can also see my numerous photos that I constantly posted and updated on my Instagram which is: courtneyshorter

Thankyou for reading!
Hope you have a great day and keep smiling!

Love always
