Everything you want is coming...

“Everything you want is coming. Relax and let the universe pick up the timing and the way. You just need to trust that what you want is coming, and watch how fast it comes.”

Everything you want is coming, to me this is one of the most enlightening and motivating quote for me personally and I believe everyone can relate to it too in some way. All the hard work you are putting into something or maybe the goals you are giving your all to achieve, it's all coming, and this quote is just that little reminder in your day that it's happening. This was the highlight of my day today reading this because it made me exceptionally happy.

What I think feminism is | Real Talk

Hi my loves,

Today I wanted to share something with you that is close to my heart and may be to many of you too. It's the idea of feminism and not the idea which is exposed through the media as this angry burn-your-bra-in-anger kind of way, I think it's much simpler than that. I was on Tumblr today whilst procrastinating when I should be study for my exam tomorrow, and I came across this quote and it hit me, this is feminism. This is what it is to be a women in a simple explanation, so I want to share it with you.

"“I am the girl who prefers to spend her Friday night curled up with her pillow, reading a good novel, and I am also the girl who likes to go out on a Saturday night and dance until the DJ plays his last song. I am the girl who wants to wear beat up converses and an oversized sweatshirt, and I am also the girl who owns over sixty dresses and too many shoes to count. Why did it become okay to say one is better than the other? Because I am all of that."

I think what I love about this quote is that as women we don't have to be defined as one thing, like a tick in a box, which describes who we are. I think that we are an assortment of different emotions and wants and needs which can change daily, so we can't be defined by one word or explanation. I like the idea that also, your not always what people expect you to be. I mean you can change completely from the perspective people see you as one day from the next and as people we are constantly evolving. Also the idea that it mainly focuses on women in this quote I believe is important! Don't let society define you my loves. Be who you want and who you truly are.

I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week and a great weekend!

Love always

21 things you need to remember now & then |

1. You are stronger than you realise.

2. You are crueller than you realise.

3. The smallest words will break your heart.

4. You will change. You’re not the same person you were three years ago. You’re not even the same person you were three minutes ago and that’s okay. Especially if you don’t like the person you were three minutes ago.

5. People come and go. Some are cigarette breaks, others are forest fires.

6. You won’t like your name until you hear someone say it in their sleep.

7. You’ll forget your email password but ten years from now you’ll still remember the number of steps up to his flat.

8. You don’t have to open the curtains if you don’t want to.

9. Never stop yourself texting someone. If you love them at 4 a.m., tell them. If you still love them at 9.30 a.m., tell them again.

10. Make sure you have a safe place. Whether it’s the kitchen floor or the Travel section of a bookshop, just make sure you have a safe place.

11. You will be scared of all kinds of things, of spiders and clowns and eating alone, but your biggest fear will be that people will see you the way you see yourself.

12. Sometimes, looking at someone will be like looking into the sun. Sometimes someone will look at you like you are the sun. Wait for it.

13. You will learn how to sleep alone, how to avoid the cold corners but still fill a bed.

14. Always be friends with the broken people. They know how to survive.

15. You can love someone and hate them, all at once. You can miss them so much you ache but still ignore your phone when they call.

16. You are good at something, whether it’s making someone laugh or remembering their birthday. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that these things don’t matter.

17. You will always be hungry for love. Always. Even when someone is asleep next to you you’ll envy the pillow touching their cheek and the sheet hiding their skin.

18. Loneliness is nothing to do with how many people are around you but how many of them understand you.

19. People say I love you all the time. Even when they say, ‘Why didn’t you call me back?’ or ‘He’s an asshole.’ Make sure you’re listening.

You will be okay.

20. You will be okay.

21. You will be okay.

MAC Darkside | Beauty

Hi my loves,

Today I thought id share with you probably one of my all time favourite lipsticks - ofcourse it's Mac. This beautiful dark red-almost-purple shade is called Darkside and is the most beautiful winter colour (or in my case all year round!) and I'm absolutely obsessed with it and will forever have it with me in my handbag.

If you've never really dwelled into the world of deep and dark lipsticks yet then this could just be the start for you, I urge you all to go try it on and perhaps purchase it for yourselves! You will not regret it,

Much love always

Tumblr

Hello my love(s)!

Long time no talk and I mean a long time! We are now into the month of November as incorrect and strange that seems to me to say through text it's the truth. It's slowly dwelling on me, the thought that we are almost at the end of yet another year. My sixteenth year! Today I wanted to share with you something that is quite personal and close to my heart, Tumblr. Now some of you may or may not be aware (if you are over the age of existence) what Tumblr is. Basically it's a site where you can post and reblog pictures from others which catch your eye perhaps.

Now unless you yourself have a Tumblr it may seem pointless or confusing to you, but once you've been on the site over two years you develop a somewhat close relationship with it. It's always there for you, whether it be the app on your phone or the desktop on your computer. It's therapeutic and it's inspiring. Not only is it filled with fashion and beauty but it's filled with quotes and literature that teach you the basics of life (not kidding!). If I could have a job sitting at home on my laptop reblogging pictures allday for a living, I would, hand on heart. This site makes me so happy I can't describe it, don't get me started on the outfit envy - this site basically sprouted my love for designer clothes and all inbetween. I will now show you some examples of the beauty that exists within this website: please note these are not my pictures - I just found these and whoever they belong to I love you for sharing!

(OUTFIT ENVY!!!)

It's an expression of art and pop culture and I just love every single aspect of it. I hope you took some inspiration or happiness out of this blog, let me know if you decide to join the wonderful Tumblr world!

Love;

Something I've learnt...

I have never been so excited for anything more in my entire life than leaving high school. Entering the 'real world' after 13 odd years of the same. god. damn. routine to some may be a scary new reality, but to me it's something I've been ready for, for longer than I can explain. There comes a point in your life when you know your only enduring something instead of benefiting or learning from it, and that is how I now feel about high school. I've done the science thing, the math thing, neither of which are my forte. I've learned how to write a acceptable essay and how to give an achievable speech. I've learned how to play almost every sport there is to play in New Zealand, or at least attempted. I've done the basics. But the best thing I ever did at high school? Take social studies. Without this subject, school life would be unbearable. Never have I ever come across anything I am so passionate and curious about in my entire life. The story of Malala the young girl who was shot by the Taliban because she stood up for education changed my soul in the way I feel compassion. Learning about the culture of North Korea and understanding their beliefs and devotion to their leader. Learning about the 100 day Rwandan Genocide which has taught me what it's like to truly feel sadness for another human being. This subject makes me FEEL. It brings me to emotion, it has made me want to cry. It's beautiful and that's why I love it. I have a passion for it. I care about what goes on in the world, the gritty real shit that the media doesn't tell us. The fact that so much conflict is occurring in Africa that I would never have been aware of without being informed in this subject, or that over 5 million people were killed in Africa after the genocide, had this been in Europe, we'd know it as WW3. Crazy right. Says a lot about our world. So when I leave high school in a years time I will leave with knowledge that I could not have learnt in any other subject; something that no math class could ever teach me, no media class, no class. And that's compassion. That's curiousity. That's realism. Humanity. And these are the greatest skills you can develop as a human being.

Inspiration Friday...

Hi dolls (feel a bit Kim Kardashian whenever I say this)

“And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself.”

The Importance of Good Friends

Hello my loves,

Today I am at home recovering from a rather eventful weekend. I have spent the last 24 hours sleeping, eating and hydrating myself and today I decided to take the Monday off school, since it is the last week of the school term after all. Friday night was spent party-prepping which involved showering, shaving, moisturizing and then my fake-tan routine. It's essential right, not everyone is blessed with beautiful sunkissed skin & In my position as a pale half-English girl it is almost expected. After a relaxing and organised Friday evening, Saturday night arrived. Let me tell you, there is nothing like getting ready with your closest friends, the act of putting on make-up and doing your hair, it's like a spiritual ritual of womanhood.

In these moments, these simple moments, I realize the importance of friendship and really how blessed I am. The group of friends I have, my girlfriends, are the people I look to most in my life and the ones who are always there for me whenever I need them. I cannot stress to you, how important it is to find these people in life. The people who love you for who you are, not what you can bring/give to them. They don't want anything from you, but your love, that they too give back to you. These people become like sisters to you, and as as only child, It doesn't feel right when I say that I am an only child because I am constantly surrounded by my "sisters".

So after a great weekend with my amazing friends I can happily say that I am loved and that I love them. These people have been with me through the thick and the thin and I can only pray that you too have either found these people in your lives or you are yet too. All I can say is stay strong, be happy, and love every minute of your life as much as you can.

Life is crazy and life can be hard, but when there are people with you through it all, everything is worth it.
Love your life.
I love you all & I hope you have a fantastic week!
Much love,

C
